A ROAD is set to close for five as days as TV film crews visit the area.

The Old Largs Road will be closed on the North Ayrshire side after Loch Thom to Kilburn Water, with restrictions in place from 8am on Monday, July 28 until Friday, August 1 at 2pm.

Neighbouring North Ayrshire Council confirmed the closure is for filming purposes, with diversions signposted, as shown on its website.

It noted the road closure up to and including Greenock's Drumfrochar Road too but TV crews confirmed to the Tele this is not the case and the closure will only be 'beyond Loch Thom'.

The area is popular for its scenic views and has been frequently used for filming, notably for BBC's Shetland series.
